Worship at Hope

Your First Visit

We know walking into a new church can feel a little intimidating. Our hope is to make your first visit to Hope as comfortable and welcoming as possible.

When you arrive

Our greeters will welcome you at the front door and are happy to answer questions or help you find your way.

You'll find welcoming tables near the entrance with helpful information, including:

  • The Sunday worship bulletin

    • The parts of the service are also projected on 2 screens
at the front of the church.

  • Donation envelopes

  • Upcoming events

  • Volunteer opportunities

  • Community resources and information

You can grab whatever is useful to you and make your way into the sanctuary.

Prayers of the Church

Prayer is an important component of our worship service. You are invited to fill out a prayer card with any requests for prayer that you may have. These will be collected early in the service and any request that you submit will be prayed for during the service.

If you have other questions, please feel free to ask anyone you see, or to contact the church before you come the first time.

Holy Communion

The Lord’s Supper, or Holy Communion, is held every week as a part of the worship service. We belive that in Holy Communion the bread and the wine are the real body and blood of Christ, given and shed for the forgiveness of our sins. (Luke 22:14-20) Baptized Christians, who believe Christ is present in the bread and the wine, who see their need for forgiveness, and who want to conform their life to Jesus’ example may receive Holy Communion.

If you do not wish to receive Communion, but would like to receive a blessing, you are also invited to come forward with those who are taking Communion. Simply fold your arms across your chest to signal that you do not wish to commune, but wish to receive a blessing. Or if you do not wish to go up at all, you may remain in your seat.

Worship with Us

Our worship follows the traditional Lutheran liturgy and includes Scripture, prayer, preaching, Holy Communion, and hymns from the Lutheran Service Book.

You don't need to know exactly what to do or when to stand. The worship service is easy to follow, and directions are provided throughout the service.

A Place for Everyone

Children of all ages are welcome in worship! We know little ones can sometimes need a little extra space, so we also have a comfortable family area toward the back of the sanctuary where parents can care for their children while still participating in worship.

Come as you are—there's no dress code, and there's no expectation that you have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

Stay & Connect

Our time together doesn't end when the service does. After worship, we gather in the Fellowship Hall to enjoy refreshments and spend time in fellowship.

Visitors are always welcome. We'd love the opportunity to meet you and get to know you more!
