What We Believe

GRACE ALONE. BY FAITH ALONE. IN CHRIST ALONE.

"We are all beggars.
This is true."

- MARTIN LUTHER

As Lutherans we believe that men, women, and children are rescued from the effects of sin purely by the undeserved mercy of God. It is by faith --a relationship of dependence upon Jesus that in it’s self is given to us by God-- that forgiveness and more become ours. God's Word then stands over us as ultimate. As in it, He gives us the rule and norm for all belief, and through it He makes us aware of sin, fills us with faith in Jesus, and guides us in faith-filled living.

Therfore we live with the sure hope of eternal life because of Jesus Christ. They know we are not perfect, that we stumble and fall in our daily walk with God. But we know that their forgiveness has been won and paid for by Jesus Christ and when we repent (or turn from our ways) and seek forgiveness, God will forgive us because of Jesus. And, we want to tell others about that hope.

We proudly belong to the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, a church body founded in 1847. The word “Synod” in the LCMS comes from Greek words that translate to “walking together.” The term has rich meaning in our church body because congregations voluntarily choose to belong to the Synod.
